Re: Brake RECALL 2006.
At my recent service, a routine brake pad change turned into a major problem, I can't help but feel I have been duped somwhere but I am not sure by who!
My mechanic has "Lost the pedal" while bleeding the front brakes after fitting new pads. He has said that the master cylinder piston cup has inverted and will not go back, rendering the pedal ineffective. Solution a new $570 master cylinder. He said that the problem sounds like the same issue that this recall is supposed to address. But my late '03 (early 120 series) Prado's VIN falls outside the range of the recall.
Has anyone else had this happen when bleeding he brakes? Should I be asking further questions of my mechanic or Toyota? or just bad luck?
Thanks for your help in advance.
