My manual tells me to replace these at 200,000kms. Anyone done it? What the hell are they anyway?

I take my Prado into quite remote areas so I had these replaced at the 200000klm service. Mechanic had never reolaced them before and Toyota dealer had never sold a set before. So up to you. I don't want to have issues when I am in the middle of nowhere but it is all about you appetite for risk (and I suspect the risk is low but I am not a mechanic)
