  • No ABS , traction or stability control

    Help, at my wits end
ABS light came on and I had no ABS , traction or stability control , put it on diagnostic and came up left front speed sensor. I found that the wire had been broken so I repaired it, the light has gone out but I still have no ABS , traction or stability control.
Anyone have a suggestion where next to look, fuses all ok

    Hi mate
couple of things to check, firstly are your brake lights working, as that can trigger no abs, also the brake light switch, not sure of ts location, google will help, also try resetting the ECU by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes.
hope your u get it sorted

Have you taken it for a drive? Drive it in straight line getting up over 40km will clear it sometimes after a fault. Alternatively try disconnecting the battery for 20 min or so to see if the computer resets and the code may clear. Don’t forget if you do disconnect the battery that you will need to reset your power windows. Details are in your owners manual to reset windows

Sounds like you need to clear the code. If you have a scanguage its easy to do other wise as craigm has mentioned disconnect the battery for 20 mins and maybe that will clear it.

How do you know you have no ABS, stability etc.?? Or because the lights are on you assume this? I'd suggest searching toyota christmas tree. Those lights come on automatically when certain codes are thrown.. Resetting should clear them if the problem is fixed.

Had a look at that Xmas tree one and I think this one might be more relevant.

Well got local mechanic to reset code, now none showing, still has issue but no lights on and no codes.
when drive along it sways and is unstable, when you accelerate around 60kmh it pulls to the right and when you stand on the brakes no ABS.
Going to try new wheel sensor next before take it to Ned Kelly at Toyota Service
                Any other suggestions?

Going to need more info on this one, what were you doing before you lost abs as swaying and unstable are obviously not normal

If its pulling right when not braking it has a sticky caliper or something by my guess.

Get a second hand and sensor off a good 4wd wrecker at about 1/4 of the Toyota price. You will need to specify which wheel it is for.

Try doing a zero point calibration to reset yaw rate sensors and steering angle. Steering wheel has to be straight, tyre pressure even, car level and no movement when doing this.
