        • Guys, I'm looking at doing this mod and friend of mine suggested that the following would be a good alternative... LINK

Just after your thoughts on this method and whether any of you have had any experiences with this?

          • Good idea but wouldn't fit them if your going of road or on gravel
as the gravel is bound to hole them and off road only a matter of time before
a stick gets them in my opinion.

Yes.. that could well be the case. I have to find a bit more but I'm thinking of combination of both now...
Run a hose to somewhere safe and placing these ones instead of the filters. So it's fully sealed.

interestingly the owner of a local 4wd place says:

"we just go down to the local bunnings, buy some of that clear tubing in the right size and then fit a fuel filter on top. you dont need to do anything other than that"

HMMM.... and BTW this is a business with stores located all around the country and i dont know what all the other stores of the same name do

                • I would be wary of using pvc tubing as it tends to deteriorate in sunshine and also
goes hard overtime with constant movement is likely to crack,

Rubber or purpose designed plastic tubing is probably more suiteable for this application.

                  Cheers

                  • Folks, I stumbled across this mob today http://www.ifsaus.com.au whilst hunting for some connectors for the Diff breather kit I purchased on Fleabay and they seemed to have everything one would need (and more!!!). They have a catalogue that you can download also which is handy. IFS (Industrial Fittings Sales) carry all the required Hosebarb fittings including the tubing. Here is a pic of some of the bits that they have which I thought may be of interest also.

For Brisbanites, IFS Queensland are in Medway St, Rocklea (around the corner from the Rocklea Hotel) as it is not shown on their website. They also stock all necessary compressor fittings, so I may also extend my ARB on board compressor fitting remotely out to the front of my bull bar..(Same as what Stewy did in his build up here >>> http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...l=1#post262675 )

                    • Hi guys a question
Could you plum your trans and gearbox breathers into the same line that comes from the rear diff?
                      Cheers

                        • Installed my Diff Breather Kit tonight. Front and Rear Diffs weren't to difficult (apart from getting my fat guts under the car!) Having no ramps didn't help the cause and made it even harder doing the AT and Trf box. The old forearms came off second best but managed to get it all done, just a bit longer than I had hoped..

I picked up the Kit on Ebay (Thanks Matt - Mr4x4 for the tip) The kit was a good price, but had I known about the suppliers I stumbled across the other day ( Post #159 on this thread) I would have bought all the gear off them making it even cheaper...

Here's the 4 Breathers I mounted up high on the firewall. The kit comes with the push in fittings and a piece of pre-drilled angle

                          Front Breather...

Rear Breather with slack to allow for Diff articulation. I ran back to the Firewall in split tubing all the way just to be sure it's protected
