  • Advise needed. Up for a new Clutch - which to get and where to get it done ?

Looks like I'll be up for a clutch soon. Getting a little noisy in neutral and it has done 208,000 k's now. No slippage yet though.

What's the best option OEM or aftermarket ?
Don't really need heavy duty as the original has been fine even towing our 2.3T van.

Best place to get it done in Brisvegas ?
Any idea of prices as well

Can you get the stainless sleeve for a 6speed Diesel yet ?
I know they have one for the v6's in the states but haven't read anything about the Diesels yet.

    All comments helpful.

    thanks

      Toyota clutches are good.
      Excedy are good also.
I have only fitted these 2 brands in Prados.
Ci clutch industries (pbr) are good, always used them up until Prado.
I'm told & believe highway clutch & brake are good.

None of them are cheap, (PRADO pricing) but highway might be the cheapest.

They range a bit, but I'd say stick with standard, no hd required.

      $500-$1000 for the kit.
Bit of a job a few hundred for fitting & flywheel grind.

Genuine can be cheaper, so shop it round. Maybe $700.
They all use the same bearing, nsk, unless its changed recently.

Expect to pay $1300+ for the job.

      Sorry that's all I know.

I did mine before we took off on our lap. I got it through northern brake and clutch melbourne,

awesome bloke to deal with. actually got it off ebay as they sell on there.

$615 delivered for an Exedy safari HD clutch. Looking at 4-5 Hrs for fitting from Mechanic. Got quoted $1000 for the same kit at a local clutch place.

Give em a bell and see what they can do
