Hi all,
My local dealer has just done my 150k service and noticed a leaky CV boot. I've been quoted $630 to replace the boot on the one side (part number 00427-60140). It looks like it's leaking around the output, possibly from when I got the suspension installed (about 10k ago).
From reading threads here, there seems to be 2 schools of thought, namely Toyota shafts are ok, and if the CV's aren't too bad (which looking at the leak it doesn't look like anything has gotten in there yet) then do the boots, otherwise replace the whole shaft at the same time anyway.
What are everyone thoughts on this? I've got a feeling I can get the parts and the job done for far cheaper than Toyota is quoting me, and the shafts look ok (it's not like the boots have been ripped apart and filled up with mud/dirt etc)
Thanks guys.
