Has any body else managed to damage an axle
yesterday driving my 4 year old 120 series d4d I hit a wall (hidden by some vegetation) speed about 15 miles an hour, the wall was about 30cm high the back left wheel caught the wall. end on, the running board was bent down, when I got out the wheel was toeing out about 2 cm more than usual ,no tyre damage or wheel damage though.
I managed to get it to our local dealer, it was handling like a greasy pig! and we put it up on the ramps and sure enough the axle had bent about 20cm in from the hub, So currently they are trying to find a new axle I hope they are a stock part in the UK.
I had previously thought the thing was pretty indestructible, certainly compared to my previous Land Rovers. It has done 80000 miles without missing a beat Got to be a bit more careful I think.
