Nah, I ended up getting an ARB air locker with the free compressor deal a few months ago. I have been very happy with it and it has made a huge difference! The onboard compressor is very handy too!

I have recently priced an e-locker for my 120 and the cost was approx $1900 supply & install. I am not sure how this compares to an air locker.

So if you take all the bonuses out - the e-locker is better value. Considering that you would need to pay for the compressor.
Unless of course you already have a compressor - then the game changes.

a compressor is a pretty handy piece of kit to have on board though...

My ARB compressor is inside the cab under the passenger seat, so I dont really want to run a ARB air locker and get the diff oil mist problem inside. E Locker is what I will be going for. Is there anyone that has one installed to their Prado yet? Lots of people saying they heard they are good but no real reports in a Prado.

Hibbo, Mate I have one the rear of mine. Had some hassles with getting bearings but other than that no problems. I am yet to use it in anger but the install was easy enough.

                  Hey Hibbo,
I've got front and rear Eaton E-Lockers and they work a treat. Not the cheapest things to buy, but I went the E-Locker path because a lot of my mates have had issues with dodgie installs of the air lockers causing greif, as well as air lines leaking etc. The E-Locker has a 2 core cable going to each diff and if somehow that gets caught up and breaks all u need to do is to join the broken cable again and your back in business. I've used them a few times, and I am happy how they perform (they work exactly the same as an air-locker except instead of compresssed air it uses an electromagnet to engage). The rocker switches that they come with are lame though (they don't even have anything written on them, so I've just got 2x switches with a red light that comes on when you turn each on, they don't distinguish what they are for or front or back), so buy some decent ones which say front locker, rear locker and all will be good (I've just been too lazy to do it yet). I can't remember which switch was which, so I just turn them both on when I need them

                  Cheers,
                  Stuey

Sounds good, who did you buy them from? & who fitted them? I saw they are $1495each retail at op lock, if I can get them cheaper I might have to send a note to Santa.

Got them from Opposite Lock Darwin, they supplied and fitted. I paid the same price in Darwin, no chance of getting them cheaper up here, but you might have a better chance in Vic. I believe Ironman sell the same E-Locker as well, so maybe try them out too.

That's what Im after as well, my problem is I have heard (and seen on here) bad results of workmanship from one of their stores so has put me off getting them to fit it. Will have to do some searching and see who else is willing to fit it for me. I did ring a diff mob in Hornsby but there price seemed to be over the top for fitment...Ive been stung a few times now with shitty workmanship by so called experts so Im extremely wary of who touches my pride and joy..........Cheers Steve

The price I was quoted was $1900 fitted for a rear from two places. I am still getting over the quality of the work done by a now defunct OL store so I will wait for a bit. Tempted to do it myself... Maybe. Want to get a few more ks on the clock first anyway. Eaton list a very low maximum speed for the diff when locked is a bit odd. I won't fit an ARB air locker having had seal issues in a past life. Anyone tried the TJM air locker?

OK just went to 4wd warehouse here in Penrith today (run by owner Scott who use to run the two TJM stores). He can supply and fit Elocker for $2200 including new carrier bearings and also comes with a 3 year warranty. He runs them in his 105 series cruiser, and yes he does the TJM one as well (prolocker I think it is ??) but he reckons the Elocker is better. He will fit what ever you want including ARB's locker if you prefer but he reckons less problems with Elocker.......Cheers Steve

Looks like you got ripped off Stuey, my rear locker came with a nice switch that has Rear Elocker embossed on it.
