Castrol Multitrax is listed as 80w90 in my lube book.
2008 Diesel Prado with extra stuff added. I drive it on the road and other places too.

My 2 cents worth after having the gearbox removed twice with issues once by Toyota (who did nothing but change out bearings and still had the same issues) the second time I changed out the original box with less Km's on but asked to have Amsoil Servere Gear SAE 75W-90 synthetic extreme pressure lubricant put in. Can be hard to source but found a supplier now who has it readly available.

            Ok,
Just dropped the multitrax and replaced it with castrol syntec 75w-90. Will let you know if it helps the third gear syncro problem.
            Cheers,

I Think the new oil did the trick. So far so good changing into third on cold starts. I wonder why Castrol does not list this oil in the lube book for the transmission?
