Metal In Diff Oil

My diff oil was changed by the dealer 3000km ago. I've just checked the colour of the front diff oil and found the oil to be yellow with shiny metal bits in it. I've done some sand driving recently. Is it normal for the diff oil to have visible metal bits in it after the 40000km break in?

I would be extremely concerned about any metal fragments in the diff. Give Toyo Dealership a ring to discuss. Looks like a case of warranty with any luck.
Let us know what they find and how you go with the repair.

Do you have a pic of the metal?

If its just very fine, glitter looking metal coming out with the last little bit of oil drained it may be quite normal. Don't panic just yet!

Yes it's just glittery stuff. I havn't drained the oil. I checked the fluid when I removed my bash plate to replace it. The oil had about 3000km after Toyota changed it at the last service.

I thought the drain plug would have been magnet and trapped all of the wear metal.
