I opened my rear diff filler over the weekend to check the oil colour and found that the level was not upto the filler plug. I had to add in another 350ml to bring it up to level. I'm not sure this amount of under filling will cause any damage to diff or wheel bearings. I recon the toyota guys lifted the car from the chassis lift points so the rear suspension and diff would have sagged hence the filler plug was not level when the diff oil was filled. The front diff level was spot on. The front diff won't sag when the car if lifted.
It might be worth checking your levels.
Indcidentally, if anyone has an open diff, SEQ Fuels (Caltex) are selling Thuban GL5 80W90 for $94/20L drum.
