Man, this forum rocks! Great work.

Just curious..... does drilling the two holes void any warranty at all?

Want to double check before I take the plunge and order the battery tray.

    Thanks

Couldn't really imagine that really causing warranty issues..

If the guard fails due to a dodgy battery tray, I guess you would have to pay for the repairs...

If you invest in a quality tray and reasearch the product, before you buy, there should be no real problems.
As Matt says above, there should be no warranty issues especially if it is installed correctly. I could imagine that if the inner gaurd rusted away due to the holes being drilled and not sealed, then yes it would not be covered by warranty. I've worked in the industry for quite some time now and I have seen some pretty dodgy things done to cars and they still get covered by the Manufacturers Warranty....

Do the job properly and it should be fine.

Well, I picked up my two new batteries today. I got an awesome bargain!!!!

Cost me $100 all up for two RAC 4703 batts and they even installed one for me!

Will post some pics later. Have a wedding tomorrow and a christening on Sunday, plus I bought another car today, so the batt install is on the back burner at the moment.

            Hi Mitch,

I noticed you brought the bracket over and utilised the exicting clip hole.......I tried this and found it pulled the bracket out of line so drilled an independant hole........roughly where yours sits in the first photos. Don't know which one is correct?

PS, Great install series, wish I had it before I did my install.

I went the extra hole route to install mine. I tjust seemed that's were it wanted to sit and I didn't want the extra forces twisting things.

                As above,

I'm going to see how it goes. The less holes drilled in the Rig the better....

There is only a small amount of angle on the battery clamp bolts, so it should be OK?!

I pick up my Camper Trailer today that I had built and will be installing the Camper Top next break as well. It's all happening at the moment!!

I'M EXITED! As big Kev would say...

I like this battery tray better than any others I have seen. Is there a power steering reservoir relocation kit available with this kit? I am unable to contact the vendor, so any help would be appreciated.

Or can I combine the 2 dual Battery kits to make a good fit?

                  Please let me know.

Well it's been a while since I've been on this forum and I still haven't finish my battery install. Been busy doing other projects, like finishing my camper trailer and rebuilding the engine in another car i picked up.

To answer your question Ben, the power steering resevoir comes with the tray for the V6 Petrol version and Diesel doesn't require it.

As for the manufacturer, I'll have alook and see if there were any contact details on the packaging it came in....

My batts may have to be a project I get stuck into over Xmas, even though I'll be away next Wed till Xmas eve in Kalgoorlie, but I'm going to need them for my break after that as I will be heading to the Cliff's (South of Balladonia) for a spot of fishing off the beach for the week.

                              OKAY people.....

                              I'm a slackass, I know!

So we had the suspension installed at Coastal 4x4 yesterday and whilst MUMSRIG was in for a bit of a lift she had her dual batteries finally finished off...

$65 for cabling and labour, who am I to complain..

Here area couple of pics of the finally finished product.

                              Isolator positioning

Fits neatly behind the original battery position

You can see the jumper wires in this shot and the red light on on the redarc isolator.

                              Cabling secured across the firewall.

Not a hard job by anymeans, however it makes life easier when you have the bigass crimper and crimps.

Ran some cabling today to the rear of MUMSRIG for a permanent 12V power source to run the fridge...

Went down to Jaycar and picked up some 4 gauge cable, terminals and a 60amp circuit breaker.

Whipped up a bracket to hold the circuit breaker from a piece of checker plate alloy I had laying round and whalla, we have power!

I've had the 12volt Engel plug laying round for ages and decided to keep the factory 12volt plug aswell...

The dual 60amp circuit breaker and bracket installed.

The circuit breaker has a volt meter inbuilt as well as a Blue LED to tell if the circuit is live.

Plug in position and ready for the fridge.

Oh, and the new addition to the rear!!!!
