My mechanic told me NEVER CUT or muckaround with any YELLOW wires !!! these are connected to the air bag system so BOOOM!

Which part of the thread are you referring to? Who suggested to cut through any wiring let alone yellow ones?

As a mechanic myself, I am well aware of the safety procedures around airbags and FYI it's not the yellow wires to be careful with but the wiring in the yellow conduit.
