just had my aux batt replaced after 2 yrs. I have a redarc isolator but my local elec reckoned it failed because I wasn't using it enough (4/6 weeks per yr) and it was over charging. I thought that's how most of us used em?

Never had the problem with Defender or 100 series petrol guzzler. Any ideas?

        G'day,
I've been lurking around here the last few weeks since picking up a '10 GXL, and am working through the kit out of it. Only part that I am unsure of at this stage, and as much searching as I have done, I haven't been able to find the answer.
Will a Piranha DBE-150s work with the 150 series? From what I can figure out there are some out there that will cause faults with the car due to a voltage sensitive alternator?
I've got the Piranha from the previous car, along with the batteries, but don't want to fit it all up, only to find it causes issues!

The DBE-150 won't cause any issues with the 150 however it may not like
the lower voltage output of the 150 alternator, this can be easily overcome
          by fitting a booster diode.

          Cheers

Cheers thanks for that. Will check out the voltage output before putting it in and make sure it hits 13.2v

I went with with a piranha tray 12" tray behind the light in my 120 4.0 with a Redarc solenoid. Kept the whole system simple as possible. Went with oversize cable between the batteries and a 100amp Deep Cycle Marine battery (with 720 CCA to boot). I can start the car off the aux battery no problems and have had to do so on a few occasions as my start battery recently died.

Your right mate it went up near the fire wall.

When i had my pre D4D 120 series and looked into this Opposite lock did the largest tray and you could just shoehorn a 105 AH battery between the headlight and air cleaner box but it is a pain to remove the battery and impossible to change the headlight globe without removing the battery so it did have its drawbacks
