Hey all,
I have a question regarding the satnav/cd player in my 2006 grande. It wont accept any CD's. Everything works perfectly including the DVD drive that takes the map disc. But when I try to insert a CD in the top slot, (there are none loaded at the moment) the flashing red lights at the edges of the slot never turn green. The mechanism that must open to allow a disc to be inserted is closed. Pressing the load button makes a beep but does not seem to do anything. I can eject the map disc, but obviously not any CD's as none are inside.
I have tried disconnecting the battery terminals for about 10 minutes and reconnecting. The dash clock resets and the programmed radio channels reset so I guess it has been disconnected long enough to reset the system. But no difference to the CD component problem.
I have also tried holding the load button and eject button for a few seconds until I get a long beep. Also read to try holding the eject button while turning on the key. None of these have worked. I havent tried forcing the slot open but I dont expect anyone would advise to either.
Has anyone had a similar problem? I have read that for the cost of repair I am better off to get an aftermarket one fitted. Does anyone know of any other possible fixes for this, or should I just concede that it is cactus and replace it?
Thanks in advance,
GOGO
