Ive got a projector dual battery isolator thats not doing its job........

first i went away and the fridge ran a brand new aux battery dry and also the main starter battery waited 5 hours for someone to come and jump start me!

Anyway after getting home i took out the aux battery and charged it over night till it was good again chucked it back in the car..........

And over 2 weeks it slowly died again with nothing plugged in, so I've come to the conclusion the dual battery system is buggered?

I only run my uhf and fridge from the aux battery and usually only when on the road as i'll put a solar panel or generator when camping my question is whats the best dual battery system for my needs?
Looking at something mid range in price.........

    What are u guys running?

Sounds like it is not wired correctly, have you checked the wiring and tested the system
to see if it working correctly?

If you're not getting at least 13v at the second battery with engine running then check all connections and fuses as they can come loose after a while.

        Cheers Jim.

I have seen this before with a redarc (same principle) and the solenoid was faulty and staying closed, but first make sure all the connections are clean and that it has a good earth and maybe test it in the car with a voltmeter to prove the fault before throwing money at it. A failing battery can cause problems too so it would pay to get them tested too.

disconnect the solenoid and do a continiuity check on the solenoid to see if it is permanently closed.

            Cheers Joel
