Car won't start. Not even a click
All dash lights on. Duel batteries lots of juice.
    All the following not working
    Power windows
Indicators/ hazards do work and flash when car locked unlocked
    Stereo and radio
    Air con and fan
    Head lights
    Wipers
    Speedo

    Horn works

Went through some water and brake light and abs light came on. Had to get home as was in middle of know where. about 5 min later Battery light came on then went off then the engine light came on. About half way home interior lights came on then went out. Wipers turned on flat out then stopped haven't worked since. Speedo then stopped. Cruise stopped working but then started again. no brake light or indicators working. Got home. Now car wont start. GRRRRRRRRR

Sounds like a wet body control module (computer)

How deep was this water?? Start by checking for water ingress in any fuse or relay boxes in the engine bay.
Check fuses and breakers Incase wet.
Id suggest disconnecting battery and let it (car) have a dry out for a day or two whilst looking for stuff that might be wet.
Some compressed air around electrical boxes and junctions to aid in drying would be a start too.

Water wasn't deep. Maybe knee deep. Where is the computer located? How does that affect the wipers and indicators radio and so on.

The computer is in behind the glovebox.

It seems pretty obvious that something got wet, have you thouroughly checked te carpets to see if any water got in? You need to work out what got wet, otherwise it's just a stab in the dark.

Also check underneath to see if any rubber grommets are dislodged, that would be a likely cause of something getting wet in a shallow crossing.

Do you have a fault scanner to check for codes? That might point you in the right direction.

            Cheers Andrew

Did you get any water in the car as Andrew wrote?

No I don't think any water got in. It was a longish puddle. About 10m long 500mm deep about, in and out in 20sec.
ABS and Brake lights first thing to come on.

                      1. Have you tried to jump start ?
2.Load test main battery?possible alternator failure ,you stated the battery light came on.

Water in the starter solenoid might explain the starter not working but
I would have thought it might click?

Check the charge voltage, alternator might have got wet and only put out
a small amount of charge which can cause all sorts of issues.

With things "randomly" turning on it has to be a control module has had water ingress.
As the wiper motor and switch are a lot Higher than "knee deep" it means something elsewhere has copped a wash..
And probably has a circuit board corroding away if left under power and wet.....
I'd be checking engine bay first then pull carpets back to see if any water under front well? Did any water come thru the vent (splash over bonnet) and enter via fresh air entry.

Without ascertaining where and what has got wet, your assuming anything and just wasting effort.

Running a scan gauge over it would likely show fault codes which will help ascertain a direction..
