It increases the revs at idle when the engine is cold to help it warm up quicker.

Also note that if the ambient temperature isn't cold enough then the switch is automatically disabled.Dave

It's probably meant for extremely cold areas, sub zero, I don't ever use mine.
It cancels automatically once the temp rises.

It's for European climates. Apparently it only works below about 10 degrees, and is meant to warm your engine up faster.[SIZE=2]120 GXL D4D Auto, with a 'List of Wants' greater than the 'List of Needs' greater than the 'List of Haves'

Yeah I was a bit disappointed - always good to have the idle up feature when winching - keep pumping as much into the batteries as possible. Not hard to flatten two batteries while winching even with the motor running! (I did just this when bogged in some black mud).Originally posted by r4ndll View PostIt's for European climates. That would be Canberra on a - minus day. I use it from time to time while sitting in the drive way.Originally posted by AJ120 View PostIt's probably meant for extremely cold areas, sub zero, I don't ever use mine.

I miss the old hand throttle om my 60...Originally posted by Fearless View PostRob83r
If only some one could sort out that idea, it would be great. Pain in the butt to winch, throttle and watch what is going on all at the same time.
This probably the easiest method I've heard of to get it working though.. Easy Idle up switch post #6
