The lights should run at the same brightness from 9V - 36V if we take the
    highest current thats 9 x 4.58 = 41.22 watts not the 100W quoted.

The 100W refers to the fact that it has 20 x 5W cree so theoretcial power
output would be 100W if all cree were driven at 5W.

Manufactures do derate the leds to improve the life of the LED etc but
to drive them at less than 50% of their output one would have to wonder
about the quality of the leds and the lamps design ability to shed heat.

If your happy with the light output then fine, but if you think the price your
paying is buying a 100W light bar your wrong, they could have just as easily specified
the correct power output but would you then have paid the same amount for a
    41W light bar?
I'm not an Electronics engineers asshole mate.........I bought the lightbar based on some reviews just the same as I bought your booster diode for my Cruiser.

So far so good with both purchase's.......time will tell I suppose.
    Can I still play now I have a 200 series?........Had a 2008 120 Series D4D Manual 6 Speed...STANDARD White, Soverign Bar..........Rear Cage........Dashmat.......GX Wheels with Good Year Dura Tracs........Bilstein/Dobbo 2'' lift.....Safari Snorkel....Canvas Seat Covers.....20%tint..........55W HID Headlights.....Mudmats front and rear.....
    22'' Lightbar......

I've wondered how they get away with this - they clearly aren't 100W if they only draw 41W. Why don't they get done for false advertising - is it just a lack of people reporting them to the ACCC?

I took two traders on Ebay on over this in the end one gave me a $100
          refund on a $220 light.

The other $50 on an $85 light.

They both argued that they all quoted theoretical power, I indicated this was
very missleading as they did not indicate it was theoretical power as some other
sellers had done and that I also believed the ACCC would agree.

Maybe it needs a lot more buyers indicating they will go to consumer protection
to get them to advertise truthfully?

Interesting point is though if they have 40 X 5W LED's why only drive then at
40% power output, genuine Cree's have a life of around 1000 hours at 100%
power so there is the first reason they derate them, at 70% it is about 60000 hours.

The fact that many seem to be driving them at around 50% would indicate they are
either not using genuine Cree leds or that the way the Cree's are mounted is preventing
good thermal transfer to dissipate the heat generated by the led.

All the lights appear to have substancial heat sinks but I have yet to look inside one to
see if there is actually good thermal conductivity between the leds and the heat sink. I would
suggest that the low drive current indicates there's not.

Thanks for all the responses thus far. I had a look at a 60mm slim set at the local auto electricians yesterday and they only just squeezed between the existing lights and the top of the bull bar. I'll have a look at a 50mm set in my travels in the coming month.

So - has anyone come across good value for money on ebay? Or is Stedi the way to go?

That long one looks really nice! Are you going to install it on your own? I have recently got LED Offroad lights for my 'baby' from ledoutfitters I need some help with wiring. Could you help me with it? PM me if you can. Thanks in advance!

                  Hi All

Thanks for the responses. I've got new LED lights, but not a light bar. After spending many hours trudging around several major 4wd retailers and a number of independent shops I couldn't find a bar to fit between the top of my existing lights and the bullbar. That and a light bar would have essentially made my existing driving lights useless.

So I bit the bullet and got a pair of Light Force LED180SD from TJM Orange who were great and threw in the install. I hadn't planned to drop such a large wedge of cash on the lights, but they are very bright and make night driving so much easier.

                  Thanks for all the input.

Ps know anyone who wants a pair of Light Force Halogen driving lights for a good price?
