I was helping out a 120 D4D owner with a charging issue of the aux battery mounted under the bonnet. I was doing some troubleshooting with my multimeter and found that there was a voltage drop between the starter and aux. I then narrowed it down to the terminals on top of the SBI12 causing the voltage drop. The voltage drop is about 0.4V when idle and 0.6V when revved to 1500rpm. Nothing was connected to the aux battery except for the voltage gauges.
Should there be a voltage drop and if so, what is the acceptable voltage drop? In the SBI12 manual, it says that an error light will flash if the voltage drop exceeds 1V.
