I'm gonna guess this has been covered a few times before.... But either I overlooked something or used the wrong search terms and nothing applicable showed up in the search. So I do apologize if it's been done to death.
Anyway,
I'm interested to know if there is anything in particular about the 08 KDJ120 Grande models that would need particular attention for a dual battery system? Are the alternators those fancy buggers that can't handle basic VSR dual battery set ups, if so what is required to make it work and any other required information?
Or is it business as usual and go about my merry way?
I'm asking because I'm wanting to know that the system in my Prado is up to the task or if I need to change anything. Using a redarc sbi12. Battery was a calcium job that I don't know the history of and when it didn't want to run the Waeco one day I took the "dual purpose" marine job out of my 80 series and put that in the Prado. That Marine battery used to run the Waeco for about 3-4 days depending on how it was used, only getting a day n a half now it's in the Prado which is why I'm looking into the system. Will be getting a new deep cycle anyway but want to know I have the rest right while I'm at it.
We bought it 18 months ago and haven't done a heap to it as it came reasonably well set up. We just added a rhino pioneer rack, cargo barrier, and took the fridge slide from my 80 series and bolted it in to the Prado.
Cheers
