Apparently the 120 alt is a bit average for failing with water crossings, mostly due to where it's located.. After a bit of looking around I thought (and still beleive) a sealed unit would be the best option however there is no direct bolt in alt for this.. I have contacted a couple of places that sell fully sealed alts and the story is the same in that it need some fairly major mods to make it work..
I am OK with fabricating to suit but from reports its a total pain in the A** to get done (if anyone has a mod thread for this let me know please!)
The other option I have found is a brushless alt which will bolt straight in (endura) but having never done this mod I am unsure if this brushless unit will work sufficiently given a trip with multiple water crossings, Ideally I want to spend some money on this and then forget about it being a potential issue if I amd driving through deeper water, as in trying to get it sorted so I don't have to worry about it when I see a puddle (aka knee deep boghole)
Any thoughts/ opinions would be much appreciated thank you!
