Hello,
I read that you bought an extra 30 micron filter, would you be able to give me the part number or the number on the side of the filter.

100-6374 has bee superceded. 138-3100 is the replacement. I'm not sure if 138-3100 was upgraded to 30 microns.

I contacted CAT and was informed that 138-3100 is still the 150 micron.

I'm one of the many who installed the 144-9962 assembly in my 120 series Prado. The 144-9962 assembly comes with the 156-1200 (5 micron) filter. I too looked to replace the 5 micron with another filter greater than 10 micron if possible. This is where the confusion started for me. It seems also that my local CAT part supplier is clueless as to their own specs.

Here's what I've found out.

1. The previously mentioned 30 micron 100-6374 filter isn't supplied by CAT any more. CAT lists it now as 138-3100 which I think is a 150 micron filter.
2. This is the doozy! ... the 138-3100 doesn't fit the 144-9962 assembly ... I know because I bought it!

I'm now going to try the Stanadyne 30226 which claims to be the equivalent CAT 30 micron 100-6374 filter. I may give up if this fails!

You will find the filter housing will only fit a 5 micron filter.
As I bought the 144-9962 then bought some 150 micron cat 138-3100 filters.

Ended changing 5 micron filter group, with the 150 micron filter housing from cat (which comes as a group) which is 138-3097.
The 150 micron filter group ended up being nearly twice the price of the 5 micron filter group.
For some reason, even though they look identical apart from the location of the grooves for the filter lugs.

Also decided to put a 30 micron fuel manager on my old Landcruiser ute, and tried the 30 micron filter in the 150 micron housing.
I can confirm that the lugs are in the wrong spot again.

So basically you cant change the type of micron filter that was supplied with your filter housing/group.

Donaldson sell filters without the lugs so they'll fit in any housing.

Do you know the Donaldson filter part numbers for different micron filters without the lugs?

I have only seen the ones with the lugs.

If you want 5 micron, then CAT will be the cheapest. Around $22. I got quoted around $40 for the fleetguard equivalent. Havn't checked donaldson prices. I just picked 4 x CAT filters to save having to go to the depot every 6 months.
