Hey All,
Got my BFG A/T's fitted about a month ago and took the prado on its first "real" 4wd trip a week ago. Loved it!! The car is amazing. Tyres are amazing too. Went on a pretty gnarly trip along the Deddick track in Victoria (snowy river country). It was an epic journey, and we probably should have taken note of the "dry weather only" sign as it was pretty tough going on one hill climb (took 3 go's but I got up!).
Anyway, filled up @ BP near Pakenham on the freeway on the way down to the trip. Never filled up there before.
I found when we went over some BIG bumps or around corners fast a buzzer and light came on in the dash. First few times i couldn't see what it was, but it's near the fuel gauge. Second time i saw it and it's a picture of a fuel bowser with some dotted lines under it. I assume the fuel filter? I looked it up on the book and it says to take it to the dealer.
Is it dodgy fuel??
Anyway, the buzzer and warning light only come on very briefly when going over a bump. Is this a problem?? Could there be some water in the filter which gets splashed onto a sensor when going over a bump?
It happened again today when I drove into the driveway at work at speed. Just as I went over the bump it buzzed for about 1/2 a second then went away.
Any thoughts?? Haven't had a diesel before this so it's all new to me. How do I drain the filter? Should I take it to the dealer?
If anyone can shed some light it would be great!
Cheers
Phil
