    Hi guys and gals,

I am very pleased with the consumption on my new D4D (170PS), although I am still not achieving the quoted 31mpg, I am managing 29mpg on my normal daily commute. Sorry guys not sure how to convert to l/100km.

    Ian.
Square pegs do fit in round holes, you just need a big enough hammer!

      Alex,

Your data is out of wack... either it's a 4 speed auto or not a 1kz-te engine... looking at your highway consuption I assume you have a D4D, no way a 1kz would do sub 9's especially with the mods you have.

I am managing 29mpg on my normal daily commute. Sorry guys not sure how to convert to l/100km.
      29 mpg = 9.74 l/100

How do these figures sound with mixed city/highway conditions. Thought it might have been a little better even with the different diameter tyres.

Funny the Cooper ST are a larger diameter however my GPS does not indicate any difference to the speedo. Is this how Toyota get their figures?

Filled up on the weekend with BP Ultimate Diesel. Interesting if there is any improvement.

In the tyre section I previously posted that by fitting the 70 series tyres your speedo will actually give you your true speed. With the 65 series you will actually be doing 5 - 6 km/hr less than indicated.

I had BFG ATs 265/70 fitted by the dealer on my 09 GXL. I have used decataur mobile radar (as used by police) and gps to confirm that speedo is now 100% accurate.

At almost 20,000km by D4D is achieving less than 9l/100km around town and coming back from my last bush trip she was getting better than 14.4l/100km whilst towing my camper trailer at 110 - 120km/hr. I was passed by a D4D hilux dual cab with a huge lift, big wheels, commercial box on the tray, two huge swags up top doing around 160km/hr! I wonder what his consumption figures are.

They seem a little high for a D4D more what I would expect from a 1kz.

Have done 6000kms at an average 9.6l/100km. Very happy with that, most of it city/highway driving and some beach work. Just installed a tracklander roof rack and I'm very interested what the fuel consumption is going to be like. All else stock standard, anyone else done this and perhaps can let me know what their figures are?

Been driving the D4D M6 like a baby for the last 2 weeks and have managed to get 1933kms out of the tank so far

According to the scan guage I have averaged 8.9 LHK over the whole tank and have 6.2 Liters left in the tank.

This has been a mission... sitting on 90kms an hour up the highway each day on the way to work and spending a lot of time watching the scan guage over the last 2000kms.

With the current fuel burn rate I think it would be possible to get to the magic 2000kms out of the tank, but I am a bit worried I may run out.

awesome fuel rate....I have never been game to run her that low and get the rubbish off the bottom in the filter.
I am getting the same rate so far over 30 tanks....9.61.
It uses more on the sand of course but I couldnt be happier with her overall.

Now to add all the remainder of the bits...............
