Whole thing sounds like some thing is wrong. 299k on 1/8 of a tank ??? I know the D4D's are good for economy but not that good lol. The only real way of getting accurate figures is filling both tank chockers and reset your trip meter then do your running around and refill again and get your true figure from that. Then worry about what the scanguage is doing..........Cheers Steve

She took 43 litres and had done 304km (around town only) which equates to 14.3 LHK. So the Scanguage was out by over 30 litres. I'm going to reset everything and see how it goes. I guess plugging it into another car can stuff with the data.Dave

OK, car filled, reset defaults on scanguage. Went for a gentle drive at 110km/hr, calibrated the speedo. Average now 9.4LHK and my range went out to over 1800km. I guess the injectors are working fine. YIPPEE!Dave

BFG 265/70, speedo calibrated with on-board mobile radar. My engine has only done 12,000 since rebuild, with 2 new injectors and 2 old ones (85K). The around town consumption is somewhere around the 13-14LHK mark which is reasonable given the short bursts and no cruising.Dave

I think I'm about to buy a petrol model and there will be at least one visit to Fraser, Cape York, a desert crossing, Stockton Beach and probably The Nullabor as my partner has not done this drive yet. Best I know what I'm in for.

Hi there Beach, I cant give you figures for off road like AJ is talking about but for on road freeway I can. Loaded (3 plus luggage, waeco etc) I get around the 11.6LPH at freeway speeds (eg110k) some times with air on some times off. I have been getting these figures since Ive owned it, nothing changed. Im sure punching it through sand will increase quit a bit but worth it for the extra grunt lol.........Great car to drive, Im selling mine to buy another prado, this will be the 4th one, fantastic 4wd. You wont regret getting the petrol........Cheers SteveFace lift 150 Prado V6 auto. No mods yet

I'm getting a fairly reliable, based on fuel remains and topping up over three consecutive times, an average fuel consumption of 9.52 ltrs per 100 kms. Pretty good I reckon for running around Hobart and surrounds, very hilly! More than happy at 87,000k, had new style injectors fitted at about 18,000k. No smoke, no death rattle. Best car I have ever owned - even better than the Brit oilers, of which I have had quite a few - now seen the very bright light!!Shifter.

Looks like my mate is selling his VX so decided to grab his. Just has a few extra things standard. I was going to put a locker in mine but I thought for another 5 grand (well 3 actually if you take the locker into consideration) why not. Im only paying what he was offered for trade in on a 150 he's getting. His VX has only done 85k mine has done 118k both stuff all..........Other then that their both 120 models both 05's.........Cheers SteveFace lift 150 Prado V6 auto. Is it a V6 as well Steve? Be interesting to see if here is much difference in economy. (theoretically shouldn't really be)Wish List: Late 120 series or 150 series V6 preferably manual, the funds to buy said vehicle
Current ride: MY2002 Mits. Pajero V6 manual With a couple of bits and pieces
