I use a BP card and always attempt to use BP fuel where possible, and have the fuel card report as proof of purchase just in case I get a bad batch of fuel. On trips, if I am towing the boat or camper and have to fill up elsewhere, I add a bottle of Whyns Diesel treatment (which is also a diesel fuel cetaine booster). If I have to fill up elsewhere and I'm not towing anything, I add some Chemtech diesel fuel treatment. If using jerry cans I always add some Chemteck, as it supposedly helps with handling water in the fuel.
The additives definatelly make a difference to performance and a small improvement in economy when driving on the highway, but I think its good insurance for either low cetaine diesel fuel or if there is some water in the fuel. So far no problems and the Prado is starting, idling and purring beautifully after 71,000km. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
