Tension pulley fanbelt noisy

Hi any tips on how to remove and replace the tension belt pulley for the fan belt

You might get more responses if you include some info as to what engine you have?

If it's a 1kz, go to a bearing supplier and pick up a 6301LLU bearing. Removal's pretty easy, remove the circlip and knock it out with a hammer and punch. If you have a vice press the new bearing in with an appropriately sized socket.

Any engineering bearing supplier. It's a common bearing.

The numbers will be the same but the letters may differ, for instance the ones I have here are 6301DU2
(6301 is the type and size, DU is the seals material and type, 2 is it has a seal on both sides)

If its a 1kd, the tensioner pulley bearings that I have looked at are: 30BD5222DUM

But I haven't been able to source these locally. It's a KOYO but must be a special for Toyota. Best source that one genuine (Which will mean buying the whole unit of course)

I think NuLine do a engine pulley kit that gives you the pulleys and bearings together and assembled.

Also try "Gates" suppliers they do multi V belts and idlers/tensioners.

Thanks all got a bearing from Bursons at a massive $5, 10 minute job and nasty grinding noise gone.

Can you post any details of how you did it? What you used and how long it took? Is it hard to do?
