Just noticed on startup - dreaded white smoke appearing. Again.
Needless to say after a re-built engine and Baileys Injectors, I am not a happy camper.
Getting back to mechanic ASAP.

Not good mate.
Not a fan of the above.
Surely the seals can be fixed.
A toyota tech mate of mine insists that with regular servicing he has seen these motors go 300000+ on shagged seals and injectors.
If that's any consolation.
Only reason I'm a bit upset is I just spent $$$ on TJM XGS suspension!

Well it certainly sounds like the seals, which are reasonably cheap but a bit of work to replace them. Sounds to me like first time around your seals might have been crook long enough to damage the seat in the head and maybe your mechanic should have recut the seats!
Cheers Andrew

AJ - when she went and it was the original sheets (copper) that were in it causing blow by.
I'll be disappointed if it is the sheets - these only have 3500 km's on them. Not only that, I'll be up for a set of pipes as well...

Let us know what you find. I think you might find there was an imperfection in the seat, just ask the mechanic to leave them aside when done, and see if you can see anything in the seat itself (sometimes you see a bit of sh!t embedded in it / the actual flaw in the casting or whatever). Anyway would appreciate if you kept us informed. Will do what we can to help all the same.
Well, good news - they couldn't find anything. This included a visit to the people that rebuilt the engine.
And of course, haven't had it repeat the smoke on start up. I've since filled up and added fuel conditioner.
Will keep an eye on things.

Well - did a 500KM trip today and worked out a couple of things.
Looks like the drain hose that I have off of the ProVent isn't really rated for oil/temp from the engine. Looks like it is leaking....
Drain about 100mm from it, best guess is that it is sucking some of the oil from it. It has only happened once or twice. Looking at all the connections in the next while.
Might also explain the oil usage....
