    MAF Cleaning

    How often do you clean you MAF sensor?

    Did mine in February and decided to give it another go today. Looked like there was some contamination and certainly idling better now.

    Depends on how much dirt I travel on, usually before and after each big trip. so probably a couple of times a year.

      It maybe overkill but I do it every 10,000k when I replace the air filter. It takes only a few minutes and I never a problem.

          MAF cleaner, probably the same thing as carby cleaner though.

            Blake,

            You can purchase a can of Mass Air Flow Cleaner by CRC from any good auto retailer for around $24. Tin should last you a very long time as its pressurised a few good squirts and the jobs done.

                  Well after all that my Prado doesn't have a Maf sensor. It has two other separate ones. One of which was completely covered in oil.
