Ecutool Intelligent Denso Tester II

With home diagnostics always a cheaper way to go, has anyone any experience using one of the above named diagnostic tools. If it will check injector values and fuel volumes as interrogated from the ECU it sounds to me as it would a beneficial tool to have in the shed.

Would welcome any thoughts.

I had one. It was slow, kept locking up and the screen wouldn't allow touch controls. It went back to the (Chinese) factory for repair and they never fixed it. I disposed of it and got the Techstream. Much easier to use from the laptop.

Thank you for your reply. Not much good to me as I am all Mac here. But that being said it might be just as cost effective to but a cheap Windows laptop and the Techstream connection and software. Food for thought, thanks again.

I considered a "genuine" intelligent tester supplied from an Australian based company. It was about 4 times the price of the ebay advertised units. Company in Victoria (I think) will sell and service but most Aussie based companies will not service or repair the imported ebay units. You could take a chance with the ebay unit and hope that it works.

The techstream has worked well once properly set up on the laptop. I use mine monthly to watch the injector and fuel delivery diagnostics and I have also used it to program the new codes when I replaced the injectors.

No. It's designed to pick up from the OBD2 port. You could google and see if there's a compatible cable for pre OBD2 though.

If you're talking a 120 1KZ then yes it will work. It uses the same socket as OBDI/II but is designated M-OBD

The above is exactly why I want some thing that is relatively easy to use and check my injector settings. My vehicle is due for the so called recall, but i want to check the settings first. Is it easy to set up the laptop with the software??

I got my uni student technology son to do the installation on my current laptop. Prior to that I had one of the forum members who set my old XP laptop up using remote access. Not particularly difficult for those with some computer knowledge - just a bit challenging for those of us born prior to colour TV.

Ive got techstream installed on my macbook (got someone to do it for me) and I'm buggered if i can get it to work. I'm next door to useless with computers, If anyone on here has done this on a macbook and it worked could do a step by step guide on how to get it up and running (guide for dummies!!)
