I have a KZN185 surf with an Ethrottle 1KZ-TE with a ROM pump.
Now, it has always been unwilling to rev and makes a lot of heat at >2500 rpm, and not much power. Loads of torque at 2000rpm and runs smooth there.
I think I know why. I got the inj specs for the engine and did some rpm tests with a techstream connected to get the deg of CA from the computer at various rpm.
So, timing is too retarded at low rpm and just right at 2000 (hence why it's always good there) and too much advance at high rpm.
No bad sensors, produces about 13 psi boost under load. EGR blocked off, well serviced etc. No Cat (anymore!). Exchange injectors done.
Thoughts on the graph? (sorry I can't seeem to get it to come into the post at a reasonable size)
