Major Diesel Leak

Hi all

I was driving home from holidays today when a terrible smell came from the a/c vents near Townsville. After a call to RACQ and a visit to toyota on a flat bed it has been confirmed that I am leaking diesel by the cup full per minute. They will check what the problem is tomorrow but looks likely I'm stuck here for a few days instead of being home on the Tablelands!!!! A bit inconveinient with all the kids pressies in the back and camper in tow...

It's a D4D still under warranty fortunately and has had the injectors replaced already....suspect someone did something wrong????

Anyone else with this problem? Can't find it anywhere using a search function....

I'll post the results to help others when I know the outcome.

OK....Mike Carney in Townsville were awesome. They found a cracked injector pipe along with the support bracket missing a nut and floating around loosely on the pipe.

I read that as vibrations causing it to crack. I also think it wasn't fitted correctly when the injectors and pipes were replaced.

They fitted me in and got me going within 24 hours which is a major bonus when holidaying with the family and having the camper in tow!!!!

Thanks for the information, your previous dealer/ repairer needs to be hung drawn and quartered and given the bill for the repair and any accommodation expenses!!!!

Car dealerships don't employ diesel mechanics.. :roll:
