Well boyz all said and done , price was fantastic, dropped in for a squiz, during the day and was pleased to see the fender work mats over the
guards, etc and very happy with they professionalism of the boss, and the quality of the whole job

if there are no teething drama's very happy.. the response on the pedal feel is easily 20% better and the manager even said it would be interesting to see how much it chops down the fuel burn/mileage.

I follow the every tank so i gave her a big drink of 98 afterwards reset the odo. and will track the numbers

The sound of the system is slightly louder ( at idle with the window down at lights , cant hear it running ) , but nice to my ears , and pulls harder with less right boot... ( definitely hear it with a bit of revs tho )
Very impressive, sorry bout all the photos but i love my pictures.. Cheers boyz.. Butane

keen to hear how it goes, $1000 for all that sounds like a great deal and if it all goes well he might have some more prado's to do
Barcode, i was just hoping to achieve a equal flow from both banks, I'm fully aware Mr Toyota had engineers design the stock system to
achieve this from the factory , but it didn't look right, now both banks are similar in diameter and length, and back pressure
from the Y pipe / muffler .. the performance , and fuel economy where the main reasons

as i keep changing my rig, with the supply of some cold air to the intake,
i believe my motor will have a more efficient fuel burn.

      cheers butane

Had a new exhaust fitted back from the extractors for my 150 Petrol.

2.5 inch pipe (any bigger is too much), a small straight through muffler to replace the monster one, and a small resonator just back from the rear. A bit more noise under heavy acceleration, but mid range acceleration is much better.

Easier towing the van, up some hills after the exhaust change, the Prado did not kick down as low a gear as before.

Put the foot down on a country road (without the van) and the Prado takes off.

$1,000- for the stainless system, fitted in Taren Point.
Yowie , did they change the y pipe like mine?, cheers butane

My new Y-piece is rather small, nothing like yours (and I don't mean my Y-front jocks) I still have the same cats left in place.

My main muffler would be about the same width as yours, but it is oval shaped, so it a fair bit thinner in height. The resonator is about the same size and location.

thanks for the explanation, and hope it works out that way - will be very eager to hear how it goes. i could handle the better power response provided it wasnt at the exspense of fuel usage.
pics look great, looks like they did a top job
keep us informed how it goes please

I always tried to build the y pipes like that when i had my exhaust shop , i like the pacemakers , one of the best around , they also did a good job on the hangers , a lot of exhaust shops don't beef them up enough then they break off as soon as you hit the gravel

spent a few hours checking it out

I cant find any leaks , they used a abundance of sealant on the flanges, all flanges
positioned on the equal plane to each other,... the clearance factor is pretty smick , thro the ,
job , for rubber components like the steering boot, and hoses ,

picked it up Friday arvo , hooked up the trailer and headed down the coast, only to crawl
thro the Kiama bends ,, thought to myself the whole hour while crawling the 8 kays,
" somethings gunna melt " no probs , just like the manager said , you may smell a bit of
paint burn but its all good... very confidently,, boyz, come to the gong and get this bloke to
do your system , big plug for OAKFLATS MUFFLERMEN,

being honest i will drop a box of beer off as well to show my satisfaction ,,, if you've
looked at the photos of the work , i'm sure you would too,,, the price and quality deserves a box

                Cheers boyz, Butane

                      performance so far

definitely goes heaps better, on the tar, highway 5th, now i would pull around for a 90 kay overtake

where b4 i would select 4th hold the gear till i had the clean break...
but 6th cant tell yet... only had a real light load on my trailer for the 150 ret. trip to test
I normally chase a 200 series Landcruiser to the farm and back ( 500 kay ish ) return trip

so that will be the test as some of the windy hills the 200 twin turbo diesel pulls away, with towing the same weights ,

but as far as sound goes real nice note, for around town but as my style goes i drive the long distance with the back windows
popped out, and it is a sacrifice, it does have a loud note to listen to for long trips , i may get used to it but,, it is a major diff.

i will close the back windows but its still there, the left bank ticking sound of the v6 with the Prado version , is more centralised to the whole sound
of the motor now and doesn't cackle back on deceleration , but have noticed the sarvo it does sound lumpy, i have been known to listen up the pipe, prior, and warned about gassing myself... but its more of a modified sound from the system , if you know your V6 prado engine/system note
you'd take a second look, and if you cared you may even be curious enough to stick your head under neath, when i walked away at the mall! etc

the V6 Hilux's with the TRD have a rasp'y sound . somewhat like a tinny s/s system . but its a deeper throaty note with this system...yes its thumbs up, in all ways and I'll suck up the noise factor for long hauls as performance comes with a noisy note , for me,,,

                      cheers Butane

Sounds good. I would love to hear more about how the system has changed the performance of the vehicle in various situations. In standard trim, mine feels quite asthmatic.

Is it still legal with the extra noise? What are the standards these days?

Looks good but for those with traction and stability controls like my VX or like 150s, that route around the transfer case is blocked by the big black box there and so may have to follow the original path which is clearly not as free flowing. Has anyone got a picture of a modified system like this on a "black box" model?

so you can hear the note.. will find somewhere to mount it and post the clip.

listen past the right tyre and the diff noise , and you'll hear the new note?

best i could do , with the GRO PRO to let you hear the note of the new pacies and 2 1/2" system

the view is worth a look anyway, boys if you can't pick the note..
