    Anyone here running a blower?
If so, what route did you choose and why? I'm not chasing raw hp, more low down grunt and torque.
There are a couple kits out there, but looking for first hand info hopefully.
Prado 120 petrol, TRD supercharger, front/rear airlockers, profender suspension, superior UCA's and trailing arms, 4.56 nitro gears, arb winchbar, winch, ipf spots, 285/70/17 Bfg muds km2's, UHF, awning, steel roofrack, buds sliders, rear drawers, extractors/exhaust, plus a heap of other crap.

Bullet motorsport do a kit (prolly where d69 got his done since they are here on the Goldie). Seem to have a very good rep for superchargers.
2007 GXL V6 - ARB Bullbar with LED lights, snorkel, extractors, 2 1/4" dual exhaust, K&N filter, dimpled/slotted rotors, headrest dvd players, Ebay Satnav/reverse camera, GME 3100TX, Tigerz11 Side awning on custom brackets with Maxtrax mounts, 300W Invertor, ARB Underbody protection, Lightbar and STZ 265/70 tyres.
Wish list in order I'll get them: Sliders, 2" lift, E-locker, Winch bar with winch.

I sent him a PM ages ago and he never responded. I'm guessing he doesn't frequent the site anymore.

The time has come to get serious about the blower - after 3 attempts to contact Bullet regarding the TRD kit, I have not found the service to be all that flash as I am yet to get a response. I have already sold myself on getting this done, so in my eyes is the easiest of sales if they get back to me.
Do these guys have monopoly or are there alternatives in SE Qld?

I have had the same experience. No point chasing them if they don't want your business. I get the impression they only deal with wanna-be racers and "street" types.

I have spoken to my mechanic who does this sort of work and he's happy to do the conversion on my 120. I'm going to source a kit from the USA myself.

I suggest you look around for credible workshops that specialise in performance work. Find one that isn't staffed by knobheads and wankers.

Well at least I'm not the only one. Poor form but I'll move on.

                      Hi All
I also looked into supercharging through Bullit cars, and they promised the world, but as I looked into it further the world of supercharging is not as straight forward as it seems. I have spoken to a business on the Sunny coast that races supercharged Pajero's offroad and their response did not convince me that by bolting on a supercharger and using a piggy back computer is the answer. They have spent countless hours trying to get a customers Prado (fitted with the TRD S/C and piggyback computer) to run properly. The main problem being keeping the motor standard. That is the compression ratio is too high in a standard engine to run properly without getting hot and or pinging and detonating. The customer also has to run 98 fuel with an octane booster also added to run half decent. They certainly did not recommend in going down that road without rebuilding the engine with a lower compression ratio.
I guess I'm not going to spend the 10+k on a supercharger to have all these problems.

The sunny coast guys know what they're talking about. I had the same pinging issue when I supercharged my 1uzfe. Increasing fuel pressure, running a 7th injector to provide a richer fuel mixture and running colder plugs are only band aids and only in a portion of the RPM/boost range. The only way to properly fix it is to change the pistons to drop compression or serverly knock back the ingnition timing which defeats the benefits the blower can offer. Piggybacks can only adjust for a small margin without causing the ECU to throw error codes or go into limp mode due to rich mixtures.

This is the sort of info I am after. I've been down this road to many times with all manner of vehicles. Its ok if its a toy to play with and you have something else for everyday, but not keen on making my daily driver/touring vehicle into an unreliable dog.
