  • Engine movement flex (Engine mount)

I've been noticing the manual transfer case lever moving a lot while driving. Especially when the engine is under load. eg. Towing a trailer.
I popped the bonnet and took a video of the engine under a load test. That is foot on the break and accelerator at the same time.
The video shows what looks like to me a lot of engine movement in the engine bay.
    (sorry couldn't upload the video)
(I took a screen capture of no load then load of the video. 2 Images attached)

It seems the engine is moving around 3-4 cms

Is this symptomatic of an engine mount worn or failure?
If so what are people's experience with replacing these. (Easy, Moderate, Hard, Workshop only)

    Cheers

That's a lot of movement, could be either broken bracket
    or rubber mount.

There have been reports that the engine mounts on the V6 can collapse into the chassis rail. So it is likely that is what has happened to yours.

Ok so a quick look online says this is a suitable replacement part:
(assuming the bracket hasn't snapped/corroded off the chassis)

Febest TM-120 FRONT ENGINE MOUNT (HYDRO)
        Model: TOYOTA LAND CRUISER PRADO 120 GRJ12#/KDJ12#/RZJ12#/TRJ12#/VZJ12# 2002-2009 OEM: 12361-30050, 12361-30051

        Suitable for the following vehicles:

        TOYOTA LAND CRUISER PRADO 120 GRJ12#/KDJ12#/RZJ12#/TRJ12#/VZJ12# 2002-2009

        Approx $90 each

Are these a hard thing to replace?

              Engine movement flex (Engine mount)

Can anyone tell me how much to replace both engine mounts? I have a mate who's been told he should replace both at next service ( 2008 D4D but should be the same as the petrol.)
