I am now waiting with anticipation. I put an order in on 14 June for a GXL TD, due for delivery 6 Sept. :?

I'm following this with interest, as i have a charcoal VX on the way for Sept delivery.

Interesting to note that DAC and HAC are still only available on the VX according to the PDF.

Even though they share the same hardware as the VSC and TRC.

I wonder if for the DAC on the optioned up GXL is just missing a button, unless they purposly don't wire them. I would have thought for efficiency, every car with the VSC/TRC package is pre-wired the same in factory and then options / buttons are removed.

Not sure, just a thought. I remember reading the FJ Cruiser forums where older models in the US, people installed a missing $60 switch to get ATRAC.

I wonder if there is anyway of knowing when the last of the current build will roll off the production line?

I would really like to get the new August build but I am thinking that if my order went in on the 09 July then I might get the current build.

Hi mav

The July build has been gone (booked out so to speak).If you bought one today it would get built in August but beware there are a few current spec autos still around so if you order one make sure you put August or later build on the contract.If the dealer says that cant be done then go somewhere else.

Note:if you order in July it gets built in August and then a few weeks to get here by boat so mid to late September is when the dealer recieves it and prepares it for you to pick up.Just make sure August or later on the contract or you may end up with a run out model.Which is a bargain to be had at some stage if thats what you want.

Thanks Rob, however I am doing a novated lease through SMB so I do not actually get to specify that sort of thing. However I know that the car is coming from Jarvis Toyota in Adelaide and they have told me that it will not be here till mid to late October at the earliest. I have specified a 03 Nov pick up date just to be on the safe side and so I don't get slugged two lease payments in one month.

I guess like everyone else I will just have to wait and see what I get.

The first day of the new spec build is 25 JUly in Japan, so any car commenced on that day is new spec, if your build is 24 July, its at current spec

Just speculating but....

.... is this the start of a transition into the new look Prado.

Have a look at the 200 series spyshot, I wonder if the steering wheel is what is described above.

Well I might miss out, I guess it depends on hhow soon after the order is placed that they build the beast. I am guessing there is a back log for orders but like I said only time will tell.

Orders need to be received by dealer by the First Tuesday in the month. Toyo Aust closes off the following Friday
That batch becomes the following month build batch with delivery into Aust by the middle od the following month.
The pattern was confirmed by the dealer when ordering my noew one...only 3 more sleeps for me...20 July delivery on a May order

So, an early July order will be August build no risk

Well I guess that is why they have advised me that mine will not be ready for pick up until mid to late October. As my order would not have made the cut off for July and would be in the August batch for build in September and delivery late October.

Upgrade's

Its about time they put HID headlight's in the Grande, at least.

Has anybody been priced on the Option Pack 1 and 2, for the August builds.
Probably not far from being the same cost for the VX.
