My fixed price $180 log book dealer services have come to an end.
My reputable and trusted local licensed mechanic quoted me $550 to do the 80k service on the D4D, by the book.
He's v particular, and has picked up issues missed by Mr Honda servicing our Accord Euro, and looks and does beyond what the book specifies, and costs less, is just around the corner, and will pick up and drop off.
    Bye bye Mr Dealer(s).

I was quoted $800 for the 80k service on my 2007 Prado Diesel at Toyota. The local Ultratune quoted $530 for the same service. So I did my "minor" services at Toyota and my major services at Ultratune.
Ultratune guaranteed to change all parts and oils that are specified for the 80k service.

$460 for D4D. Was quoted around $700 but lease company must get a discounted hourly rate. Labour was $51/hour for 5 hours.

I too got extended warranty does that mean that should be paying the "advantage" fixed price servicing??

I recall my father inlaw having his 100 series serviced by a local Ultratune or Profix (because thery where cheap. When he took his car home he found a big slege hammer and cold chisel sitting in the engine bay and had heaps of issues. Was finally sorted. Checper price dosn't always mean better but then he may have just been unlucky.

I have just had my 80K service done with front transfer prop seal and oil. Went to specialist 4wd shop in south road adelaide.
                    Cost $625. Very happy

Did the 40K service through Toyota service dept and got the $1200 shock. Wasn't prepared to go through that again.
                    [B]Cheers

What worries me is what they were doing with the cold chisel and hammer in the first place!!!
