Is it okay to jack the car from underneath the back diff?
I assume I can jack the front of the car from one of the cross members up front. Is an 08 model

    Thanks

If jacking from the centre of the diff, stands will need to used to stablise the vehicle and for safety before getting under it.

      Not a problem Gavx,
Depending on what needs doing I use the diff as a jack point. Its even recommended in the repair manual as a point for jacking when using a trolley jack. Bottle jacks should be used on either side of the diff under the drive shafts as bottle jacks such as supplied by toyota are only rated for lifting one corner of the vehicle at a time eg flat tyre changes.
Always make sure to put jack stands under the chassis rails as close to the centre of the vehicle as possible to maintain stability.
      Cheers, Shannon.
