I think $39,750 will get a lot more attention than $41,500. At least it will look like I'm trying to sell it! Still, haven't got the delivery date on the new one yet so this is all a little premature - supposed to be this month but looks likely to slip again.

Peril - You paid over $50k for the same model? Wow, that is a serious markup on the trade-in which was probably $35k at best. The local Tojo dealers are the WORST people to give the car to. I have some horror stories and I have had 4 of these things so it dates back some way. Luckily the 2008 is the most bulletproof car I've ever owned - faultless in fact.

Keep the bidding going - when you get to $38k I'll send photos!

Hehe, yeah I knew I was on the top edge, but given all the other 2008s I looked at were all in the same range, and no where as good as this one, I didn't feel to bad. Guess I could have haggled a bit, but honestly didn't have the time to muck around.

For info the Tojo dealer I got mine from is a well known fleet dealer in Brissy, they do look after you from 'my' experience. I also needed to have Australia wide warrantee (dealer of some kind), I brought it in Brissy whilst on holidays and actually I live in Sydney. It came in the colour I wanted (silver), with most of the bits I needed to get my holiday stuff home (bar/racks, toe hitch and trailer brake). I had limited time (2 days) to get the deal done and go to Bundy before heading back to Sydney.

It was worth a little extra to me to get what I required in one package. Not 'cheep', but I have no complaints either, I'm happy, cars in excellent nick, and it's mine.

Good luck with your sale, your need a guy like me to buy it

Viper, it will be a great buy at a great price for someone. WA is a little far away unless you want to plan a nice little holiday driving it back across the top end!

Also in the market for a 2008GXL. Been looking and reckon I should be able to pick up a tidy one under 80,000km for around the mid $40K mark. A few online, but all down south. Just waiting for one to come up in the Gladstone Rocky area and i'll be down on it like a fat kid on a cupcake!!

I brought my Gx may last yr, dec07 build but says its an 08 and it has the service pack 1, it had 55k on the clock and paid 47k for it, I was lucky to also get an additional 3yr 150k Toyota factory warranty included. Which so far has paid for itself. I think I got a pretty good deal :-) love my prado!!

Hey pradopointers. My lease is up and I am looking at selling my beloved Prado 120 series. Details are: 2008 GXL option pack 1, D4D Turbo diesel, Automatic, 80'200km's, Charcoal Grey, Alloy Bullbar, Toyota Tow bar, Tinted windows, Rear wheel cover, Sat Nav / DVD player in dash, Roof mounted DVD player with wireless headphones, Dual battery system, Ironman lift kit with HD springs & shocks, anderson plug, Waeco fridge outlet wired to rear, Near new tyres. All in absolutely immaculate condition. Always serviced by Toyota. Very regretful sale but work lease dictates I renew my vehicle so I'm getting a 150 series. My question is this, will I hit the mark if I advertise at around $49k?? Thanks for your help in advance.

It will be interesting to see how long the 120 D4D holds its value. The limited availability of the 150 and subsequent price (no real discounting or advertising to speak of) helps keep the price up of the later model 120 D4D.

I have a Nov-04 GXL V6 and wanted to get into a D4D but I was also was happy to stay with the 120 series but I could not justify it purely from a $$ perspective. Have only just clocked 100,000kms and I have had the V6 since new with full service history / been looked after so I decided to spend a few $K on what I already had to assist with towing / touring etc. and staying with what I already had also allowed me to purchase a camper trailer.

Anyway it is a sign of a good vehicle that the second market remains strong.

                          Cheers - Lodgey

The 120 D4D is just such a good rig, I can't see the value in paying big $ to change into a 150 and not gain any benefit.

D4D take a 150 for a drive you will definitely see the difference, even better if you can get an off road drive.
See ya on the tracks, Richo.

My Brother in law is the second hand manager at the local Tojo stealership, he told me yesterday he just sold an 08 GXL with 80000km on the clock for $52K. He called the valuer while I was talking to him and he reckons they would give me $36K for my 07 GX (GXL lookalike with flares etc) with opt pack one (ABS, cruise) with 55000km and then probably sell it for around $45K. Not that I'm looking for another car yet, the next vehicle will be a ute and probably not a Tojo, after four Toyota 4WD's.
