Cheers Justin, I did notice that with my wifes car radio it flashes when the ignition is turned off where as my prado doesnt (hers is toyota as well) We bought her car new and we certainly didnt put a code in it so god knows what it may be ?? Will worry about that when we need to. I did ring a mate who worked for toyota untill recently and yes he told me about some yellow box with a decoder or some thng like that but either way he said wont be an issue if its locked so got that sorted. I was just looking at some from the klugers but look totally different to the prado ?? So dont think Ill bother looking at them ones. Not sure what is a fair price to go up to for the one Im looking at. Already the one without the USB has hit over $200 so im thinking the one with USB which is at just over $70 will go for a lot more by next week. (I hate new people to ebay they push the price up by bidding straight away LOL) Now that I know the hilux's have them also will keep an eye on them to although im not sure why people would bother changing them over when they are so well equiped with bluetooth,USB, ipod connection etc ?? Cheers Steve

MMM D4D now you mention that, a friend of ours bought a new hilux and had the old unit pulled out to have it replaced with an upgraded model with GPS, wonder what they do with the old ones ??? Probably put on ebay lol. Shall give them a ring tomorrow (use to work for toyota a loooooong time ago, 88 to 92/93) still know one of the mechanics, just maybe he can lead me in the right direction. Didnt even think of bloody toyota taking out and replacing with GPS units till your post then I remembered our friends SR5 hilux, dickhead I am, ok no need to agree......Cheers SteveFace lift 150 Prado V6 auto. Steve i got mine off ebay.it was the model found in the standard/gx and workwear toyotas that has the aux jack but no bluetooth, picked it for about $50 from memory, plug straight into mine,no code so all good. While the radio was out i also added an external bullbar mounted aerial as i got sick of the crap reception when in the mountains with the glass mounted aerial.
RussNew 2015 150s GX 5 seater with floor mats, towbar and a big wish list
Previously a 2004 120s 1KZ GX silver manual with stuff
before that a 1996 RV6 90S with lots of gear

""While the radio was out i also added an external bullbar mounted aerial as i got sick of the crap reception when in the mountains with the glass mounted aerial."" good idea there Russ, I find the reception pretty ordinary also. Presume its just a standard aerial inlet ?? Sounds like a good idea. Then I can get the rear windows tinted darker plus also in the metal film...... Cheers SteveFace lift 150 Prado V6 auto. Dealers usually put a code in and they will either put a sticker inside the manual or will use the last 3 numbers of the VINOriginally posted by Steve M View PostCheers Justin, I did notice that with my wifes car radio it flashes when the ignition is turned off where as my prado doesnt (hers is toyota as well) We bought her car new and we certainly didnt put a code in it so god knows what it may be ??
The 150 Prados, Klugers, Camrys and Aurions have a different headunit to those on the rest of the Toyota fleet.I was just looking at some from the klugers but look totally different to the prado ??
$300 is a fair price for the unit that D4D and I have in the link that D4D linked to above. Not sure what is a fair price to go up to for the one Im looking at. Already the one without the USB has hit over $200 so im thinking the one with USB which is at just over $70 will go for a lot more by next week.
The ones in the Corollas and FJs have orange LEDs. The green ones are from Hilux and Tarago. That's all I've got so far. Not sure about the Yaris. I think the RAV4s are orange.

The one with the buttons on the bottom is the best. I've got that one in my 2012 kluger. I've had and used the other units in the hilux and other klugers. You can select the screen colours but its essentially green backlights. the first pic only does Bluetooth phone it cannot play audio unless you use the audio jack. The second pic is the same with USB and the last pic does the lot, only wireless and does all audio etc. They keep chasing the technology. I'm sure in six months it will change again. Hope this helps.Originally posted by Steve M View PostSo Pelagicus, the second picture I posted (looks the same as the first picture, unit) you can play ""Bluetooth audio so iPhones iPads and any Bluetooth device is compatible. I run the iPad through this for the kids. I'm pretty sure you can even connect reverse camera."" on this one ?? (not the last picture I just posted which has different face on it and buttons are on the bottom for phone)......Cheers Steve
