Obviously a bigger job than he thought, hang in there, it should be finished any time now.....

With all the small 12 volt console cooler/fridges on the market. If you wanted to keep an OEM look.
Would it be feasible to buy one of these new units. Dismantle and install the bones into your console ???
As long as everything stays tight/powered as required and the evaporators are close to the console walls. It should work.

        Cheers

Hey johnnie, does your TX have Airconditioning in the rear ? The TX released in Australia only had single a/c from memory and I think the fridge/cooler operated of the compressor for the rear ac. Could be difficult than you think. I would just put a small fridge in the rear floor area. The centre console fridges were never that good for keeping beer cold!!!

Im not sure if he has a 90 tx which we did have but only had single air or has he a 120 TX which is some thing we didn't get here in Aus but maybe his TX is equal to a VX here which in that case wouldn't be as hard to fit as the aircon pipes pass through where the fridge would go for the rear air ??? Either way would be ten times easier and probably a lot less expensive to do as suggested above and just buy a small weaco or some thing to cool the drinks down...and the grande fridge worked a treat as my mates does keeps everything freezing cold, infact people are having issues with things freezing up in the kaka's so they must be bloody cold lol....Cheers Steve

Yes the fridge in the Kaka does keep drinks nice and cold. I haven't had any issues with things freezing in it though.

Luckily for us, this is standard fitment on most Prados sold here.
