6 Stacker CD player missing

Hi there Jurgs, my mates 06 VX does and is stock standard no mods what so ever. But Im not 100% sure bout passengers seat ?? I have driven it and adjusted drivers seat so for sure 100% drivers side has it.....Cheers Steve

Hey ther Jurgs, I will eat my words LOL. You are right sorry. There is only one electric adjustment on the drivers seat not sure what its for. I just had a look through carsales at 03 to 07 VX's and there is only one rocker switch on the seat base, I must be remembering this from my mates. Now im curious as to why I was adjusting this on my mates VX, Will definately be checking this out tomorrow if hes home. Only lives 3 streets from me........Cheers Steve

Mate I have a 6 stack that came out of a 2005 GXL that works fine if your interested in swapping them over as they are the same unit and I don't want it and was going to sell it anyway due to putting in an aftermarket one

Steve, thanks for trying. Can't get link to work even with pasting all of it. I do suspect that there is something different about early vx's. Mine is 4 speed auto. Tried to find picture of my radio on car sales yesterday and could not see one the same. Will have another look. Something strange going on with my vehicle I suspect. Has two different colours on outside also which I haven't come across yet (plastic lower part not body colour but dark grey).
Paddy, many thanks for offer. I'm in wa and will eventually put aftermarket player in also so prob not worth the effort for either of us. Your offer is much appreciated.

I have the Grande 03 model...had the stacker under the passenger seat and the NAV disk under the driver seat. Only one CD went in the head unit

mine is 2006 Vx with 5 speed auto , has the same dark grey plastic lower part, also the head unit don't have cd changer either on the unit itself or under the passenger seat or in the glove box,

Hi hisham, sounds like we have same odd configuration that does not appear inline with Toyota's specs for this vehicle? You are in a different world market though. Jurgs

No problem mate. I've got no real use for it now and I assume they are worth nothing....

If you pulled the head unit out and there is a stacker or was a stacker you should be able to follow the cables from the head unit to where it may have bee . Maybe the previous owner took it our for some reason ??

Hi there Jurgs, sounds more like this vehicle may be a grey import ?? Was talking to my mate last night who has the VX 06 model and he reminded me of his 04 GXL with 4 speed auto also had the 6 stacker in dash cd player same as my current 120 so my theory of 4 speeds having a different cd player due to 4 speed instead of 5 speed auto has gone out the window, and his 06 has the same stereo as mine nothing different, Mind you toyota do some strange things some time.........Cheers Steve

I have the 2004 VX 4 speed auto and it does not have a 6 stacker; none under the seat or in the glove box or anywhere else; checked a couple of years ago when I thought mine should have more than a single so you are correct. I have changed mine to a Digi Options Multi Media unit so the old one is in the shed.

I have an 03 GXL, which came with the in-dash 6cd stacker. I'd be very surprised if a higher range, newer vehicle has a lesser head unit. Could someone have replaced the original unit at some time, perhaps to replace a broken unit?

That's exactly what gets me ? Sounds like I'm not the only one so wondering if Toyota did this for a while or if anyone else has this. Will post a picture of my unit when I get a chance and see if anyone has same. Cheers jurgs

Also why is the bottom of your plastic door panels a different colour ?? They only did this on the grey imports. If sold here in Aus I have never seen one with different coloured plastic panels, should be the same as the metal panels ?? Very strange. Again Im probably wrong but unless they have been sprayed at some stage after production but Ive never seen one. Only on the 90s were the plastic panels a different colour to the rest of the car (well myn both were anyway lol)...........Cheers Steve

Vehicle has full service history back to first owner so don't think its import. Perhaps an accident sometime and got different panels then? May ask Toyota when next there. Jurgs
