I picked up the WESFIL filter today and threw it in following the instructions listed in this forum. Easy as pie to install. I did do a bit of a ring around but the best price I had was about $24.00 from one of the Outbound Auto stores down south. I rang a Toyo dealer that gives the club I'm a member of discount and they quoted me $96 for an OEM :shock: .

I'm also in need of a new tray to hold the cabin air filter since one of the clips was broken (No I didn't do it when I removed it). no one other than dealers seem to stock these so I've ordered one in from the same $96 dealer but this is only $24.00. There was no filter in my car (GXL with no option pack) and I'm somewaht annoyed that I never looked into one sooner as the Simpson crossing we did would have been much better without the residual sand in the air ducts.

just checked my DIY cabin filter (air filter foam cut to size) to find that it had shifted (most probably on high speed).
like alot of people attending the GTG 2010, i'm finishing off some small jobs.
found myself a cabin filter that fitted perfect for about $20-$30.
Kia cabin filter (part number P8790 1F900A).
it's a proper cabin filter,so works without reducing air flow, and is the perfect size.

Hi All,
For the Grande with the rear Air Con is there another filter for the rear side or just the one filter in the glove box at the front.

HI I found after I installed the Westfil cabin filter it took a little while to get dusty smell out of the system ran it flat out a few times for 1/2hr or so all gone must have been in the ducting outlets. Now just clean cool air.TINKERA.

I put a filter in about twelve months ago, aftre doing a Simpson trip which involved LOTS of dust. Had a cleaning session on Sunday afternoon and pulled the filter out and wow was it dirty. Has saved a lot of crap from getting into the vehicle and dons't seem to restrict air flow. I highly recommend the Westfil Filter for about $25.00ish.

I'm sure the lady quoted the wrong price. I can't see this filter costing $120?

$120 must include the labour for the service techs to scratch their heads trying to find the instructions on how to remove the glovebox, then finally resorting to Google to find info and stumbling upon PP to find detailed instructions with colour photographs.
