      • A very very easy DIY job. Managed to do it even with a screaming 2.5 year old strapped into his child seat. Seriously less then 2 minute job. Purchased mine from Bursons, using the Wesfil filter, fitted perfectly, cost was $20.60. Westfif WACF5231 is the correct part number. Another great tip. Thanks.

        • Cabin air con filters can be sonic cleaned and reused time and time again. I get my air cleaner sonic cleaned and tested and at the same time get the air con filter done. Costs me $10.00 for both.

            • I noticed my 2005 V6 Prado didn't have a aircon filter, and was shocked at the Toyota price of $80.......
Using any aircon filter or fridge filter will do the job for much less than Toyota, Clark Rubber have aircon/fridge filter material

              • I used a piece of filter material I picked up from Clark Rubber - cost me a coupla bucks. Cut it to shape and made it double thickness. Does the trick as it gets dirty fairly regularly. And when I went to clean it I just vacuumed it and washed it out, then hung it on the line to get rid of any moisture. Beats having to buy a new one.

Normally a bit of moisture is a good thing, but not in this case...

                    • Ok so what is the difference between the diesel cabin filter and the petrol one ?? Also is there a difference if you have climate air or the old dial air like I have ?? Their all advertising for diesel, nothing about petrol, Surely there is no difference with the cabin filter ?? Cheers Steve

                          • Just did my 90k service - replaced it with a new one, sourced locally by my (non-dealership) mechanic from Bursons I believe. Not sure how much as I have a few other things done as well, but I am sure that it was absolutely filthy - bugs, leaves, dust etc, unbelieveable. It is hard to believe that Toyota do not make these filters standard for all models. I kept the old one and will give it a wash and keep it as a spare. Just about to head north for a couple of months so no doubt will need to check it whilst I am away.
                            Cheers,
