My Greenfield mover has one !!

there is a thread about this very topic somewhere i believe... If not a thread i am sure its a few posts.

IMO, a scoop unless designed to fit in with the Prado's clean lines would look rather naff.

Maybe some sort of Hybrid scoop like the territory turbo scoop would look ok.

prado 90 and 120 have double skin bonnet to allow air to flow between the skins to cool the intercooler, and damos right it would ruin the clean lines

Those of us old enough to remember HO's (not of the rapper variety!!!) - I mean GTHO's - will refer to bonnet scoops as "shakers"... ops:

I dont think it would be hard to do, the area is clear for you to start cutting away.

I think it would look good and work well.

personally .... i have a WRX subaru (original 2000 model) , anyone trying to copy the bonnet scoop i think looks crap . The hi-luxTD looks good , the Ford Territory looks alright , but any car that didnt come from the manufacturer with a bonnet scoop looks tacky .

BTW , if you really want to massacrate your prado , leave the bonnet alone and lay into the wing with a 95mm holesaw and stick a snorkel on it

Hi All,

The reason there is no scoop is that the Intercooler is vertically mounted near the Radiator and Grille.

The scoop on the Nissan Patrol, Hilux, WRX are due to he fact the intercooler is horizontal and is onto the engine, thus needing forced air intake from the scoop.

I think you will find that the intercooler is top mounted on the motor hence the double skin bonnet. Here is a photo of the D-4D and the intercooler is on top, this is essentially the same motor as the Hilux but with a few tweaks .
