OK, I think I've found the cause of the under-bonnet rattle. The tiny spot welds on a front fender attaching bracket have broken on both sides.

Headlights were removed and a self tapping screw was put through each bracket just above the spot weld. The rattle, which was only evident whilst idling in drive, appears to have gone.

glad you found it.. I went through the same thing a couple of days ago.. got pretty worried as I thought the flex in the headlight and guard might be due to a cracked guard, but a tek screw through the same thing you showed a photo of seems to have solved the problem

        Muffler/exhaust pipe knock

I hav a similar problem- it started after a bush trip where the exhaust must have recieved a knock and is causing it to knock on my rear bar/ bumper.
may not be your case but certainly is for mine. and I do not know why only when i m slowing down or stopping.

        Regards

New rattle discovered and solved after a couple of weeks of peeing me off. The plastic block in the wiring loom from the HID box to the headlight was knocking against the front radiator support frame. Now I've got one to find and fix inside the driver's door.

And, by the way, the rear knock is due to the fuel tanks being full. When I fill my car, I fill it right up until the fuel is above the vent pipe just below the lip of the filler pipe. So, for about 100 -120 odd kilometres, every time I slow or brake to a stop, I get the 3 or 4 knocking sounds. It's done this now for the past 4 or 5 tank fulls. And then it stops once the level drops a little bit.

Right side, it sounds like its coming from the r/h/f mudflap area.
Checked side steps etc, in case not tight bolts.
Checked over front suspension. No luck yet.
              Anyone with any ideas?
Mine was the guard liner hitting the side inside the Bullbar, all fixed

Bush basher the drivers door knock is often a broken clip on the plastic trim.
Open palming the flat panel usually shows this up. You can see up into the trim from underneath.
                Just a possibility.

Thanks. It's been getting louder. Just been too lazy to pull the trim off and have a look.

Open window with door closed and flat palm the door. That usually shows the noise up..
Then try holding bottom of trim and doing from outside
