  • Replacement Key for Prado

I bought my 2003 Prado with only 1 key.

I have searched on here and saw the many discussions on keys and now have found the following on E-bay and just want to know if anyone can confirm this is all I need and it should work, seems cheap at $55 inc postage.

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....m=281186233007

it will only be the spare key so wont cop a lot of use, unless we loose the original

Also if someone can PM me how to program this to my car that would be great too as this one doesn't come with instructions unfortunately but at the price I am not complaining.

It does seem cheap but doesn't appear to be a genuine key so probably why it is cheap. Do you have a remote key now? There used to be a guy selling the genuine Denso keys on eBay, can't find him now.

      Hi mate,

Ive broke he housing on my key no long ago and went to toyota to get a new one, i got the new key for $75, When i went to get it cut they asked me if it was an ebay one because app they were having trouble cutting the ebay ones as they are thinner or something and they were not working after being cut.......

Just something to check out if your buying from ebay.

I got 3 key shells with batteries for $25-00 from eBay. Stronger shells than toyota.

Ive been reading some more and it appears the transmitter may have changed some time between 2003 and 2004 so I need to know which frequency mine is.. Any clues on how to tell?
