I remember when my Dad picked up a new Camry (in 1987) from Sydney, only to get home to Bowral to find a 20+cm ring spanner hanging precariously on the top cover of the motor. We stuck with the local dealer from then on.
and...
Got my Jeep Grand Cherokee (2000) serviced here in Brisbane and noticed halfway home the right side of the bonnet was higher, I thought it has been dealt a blow by the apprentice, but closer inspection revealed not one but two snap-on brand tools. Needless to say I kept them and they now are part of the in-car toolbox.
and finally... (and the best one for me)
The Mitsubishi dealer left two volumes of the service manual (which he had previously decllined to sell me) on the front seat of my Pajero. Very thoughtful gift I thought as it was the elctrical and body books I was after.
So I guess the moral of the story is, despite what brand it is, no dealer is perfect and unlike my previous stories, dont be in such a hurry.
I'm picking up my Prado from Proserpine, so hopefully everything will be spot on when I arrive on the Saturday.
