Check your front grills

Hey guys, just thought I'd put it out there, the front grill mounts have cracked through and wouldn't take long for the grill to come loose can't put any pics up, as it's in with Toyota as I write this and should be replaced under my extended warranty, this is the second one I've seen now, mackayvx was the first and we just glued it back together. We thought his might have been from the added stress of his bug protector. Yet I don't run one and it's still happened.

might be just a bad batch of plastics or a lot of corrugated roads maybe ??

His was an 04 mines an 08..... So don't think it's a batch thing. Yea no idea. I haven't done heaps of corrugated roads... Crap roads yes (it's mackay) haha... Glad yours is good gspy

Typical Toyota plastic. Most of mine broke upon removal, checked my dads, similar situation ('06 and '05). Seen the same thing happen to a speedo cluster fascia where heat / UV wasn't an issue, just very brittle plastic.

Mine still sits in there fine with the busted ones.

I would suggest people don''t fiddle with them unless they're still under warranty somehow or have a replacement, as it's the sort of thing where there is no tolerance between unbroken and broken, just the tweak of a screwdriver.

Mine is a 2008 model had the bonnet protector put on by Toyota and the guy who fitted it warned me my is cracking up and I should look at replacing it.

Yea mine is getting replaced under warranty. glad I found it now, they are asking over $500 for a new genuine one!!

Checked mine 2008 D4D GXL, 95,000 km. All good but limited trips on corrugated roads. I'll keep an eye on it though.

Yeah I glued mine together 6 months ago, but mines a 10 year old car so things like that are to be expected. Its only plastic after all.

Yea, I would have just glued it up if it wasn't still under warranty for another month
